As many of you may know, yesterday was Earthday (April 22nd) and, coincidently, I recently ran across this incredible new service that I thought would strike a cord for all environmentally conscious folks.

For many of us, Google is our second brain. We use it constantly to solve and satisfy a variety of our questions and needs. Google Search Engine conventionally uses a white screen which consumes much more power than necessary. They have recently realized that 750 mega watts/hour could be saved annually by using a black screen considering the large number of pages viewed on a daily basis. Google’s response? Well, they have created a black version of its famous search engine which matches it’s original white version in terms of capabilities and functions. This black search engine is called Blackle and was developed to help facilitate the world’s (our) efforts toward lowering energy consumption.

Please help save our world and spread the word! www.blackle.com
