The samples you’ll see will blow your mind! We’re talking about data visualization, essentially presenting data through the use of visualization. The concept has been around for hundreds of years, a map for example is representing data in a visual form. Today, data visualization is an emerging science of visualization, it’s as Harvard Business Review calls it, a “sophisticated graphing of digital information”.

What’s most notable about this emerging science is the data we are able to collect about how and why people are visually stimulated or impacted by what otherwise would have been raw data arranged in ways that would not convey any relationship to other areas; now people able to visually see how information is related across fields, how it is all inter-connected. Now we begin to see patterns and trends into how a society reacts to information and the way it’s arranged. We are affected and stimulated to a higher level when information is gathered in After all, according to Wikipedia.com data visualization is the use of interactive, sensory representations, typically visual, of abstract data to reinforce cognition, hypothesis building and reasoning. According to Harvard Business Review, May 2008 issue, ‘research has found that the compelling presentation of data through visualization’s advanced techniques generates a surprising volume of impassioned conversations. Viewers ask questions, make comments, and suggest theories for why there’s a downward trend here or a data cluster there’.

Here are a few samples that will get your imagination going! Enjoy and get ready to start viewing information in a whole new way!
